Teach courses in the Political Science Program, consistent with current developments in the discipline and teaching methods. Participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and actively participate in College initiatives. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
Master’s Degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) in Political Science; or, Master’s Degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) with a minimum of 18 semester credits (27 quarter credits) of graduate-level coursework in Political Science.
Previous teaching experience (instructor of record) at the college level.
PhD Degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) in Political Science.
Experience facilitating government internships or similar professional experience.
Previous experience teaching (instructor of record) at the community college level.
