Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, has an immediate need for a Full Time, Head Women’s Soccer Coach in the Athletic Department. The work schedule is will vary depending on the fall soccer season, and off season. This is a non-bargaining, exempt, grade 21 position. For non-exempt positions, you are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. This is a temporary position with benefits funded through June 30, 2023. Employment continuation beyond this period is contingent upon need and funding.

Salary Range: $44,656 – $58,032 annually. Initial salary placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity.

The head coach for Women’s soccer reports directly to the director of athletics and will manage the development of student athletes both inside the classroom and on the field by providing leadership, mentorship and instruction. Montgomery College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I and the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (JUCO).

The head soccer coach will administer and direct all aspects of the women’s soccer program. This position is responsible for adhering to all applicable NJCAA, conference, department and College regulations that relate to recruiting, daily program management and general success of the program.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Explain and demonstrate principles, techniques, and methods of regulating movement of the body, hands or feet to achieve proficiency in activity.
• Instruct student-athletes on performance, physical health, team concepts and safety.
• Promote and monitor student athlete emotional and social wellness, as well as monitor academic progress and celebrate classroom success.
• Recruit quality student-athletes by means of personal contact and correspondence, evaluating ability in person or by video and through on-campus visits.
• Administer and coordinate all equipment and uniform purchases within budgetary limitations.
• Plan and implement in-season conditioning and practices and off season clinics and camps.
• Schedule all games and practices.
• Conduct soccer clinics and camps.
• Develop and implement team fundraisers.
• Assist with coordination and monitoring of intramurals offered to the non-athlete student population.
• Assist with event staffing and game operations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3 years of college and/or high-school coaching experience
• Knowledge of soccer, it’s philosophies
• Demonstrated leadership in Team management including scheduling, meeting deadlines, problem-solving, and recruiting
• Experience training and/or instructing student athletes
• Use of personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite Software applications
• Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record
• Must be CPR certified
• Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship

Preferred:

• USSF C or UEFA Equivalent Soccer Coaching license.

Physical Demands:

• Work is typically performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to weather.
• Must be able to perform physical demands of coaching job as well as lift and carry sports equipment.
• Non-traditional work schedule including travel and periodic overnight travel.
