Overview of Position
We are seeking an Accounting and Administrative Specialist who will be responsible for carrying out a wide variety of budget, data, purchasing, and computer functions in support of Continuing Education and Workforce Development's administrative and academic activities, including grant-funded programs.
This is a full-time, administrative position.
Examples of Duties
- Maintain and process financial information and records
- Prepare financial reports for programs and the department
- Assist with monitoring expense and revenue budgets
- Prepare and process third-party billing
- Monitor accounts to ensure that payments are current
- Assist with purchasing activities, including the processing of purchase requisitions and orders and follow up with vendors
- Perform day-to-day administrative tasks and related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate degree in business, accounting, finance or related field required
- Minimum of one year of related work experience
- Strong computer skills, especially in the use of Microsoft Excel, required
- Outstanding problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to work both independently and in diverse teams
- Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality
