A postdoctoral fellow position is available under the supervision of Dr. Brian Peters within the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Translational Science at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center to contribute to laboratory projects involving delineation of bacterial and fungal pathogenicity mechanisms. The position requires a highly motivated and independent researcher with a background in microbiology, host-pathogen interactions, and/or infectious disease-related immunology and a record of productivity. Necessary skills must include experience with animal models of infection and molecular techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS A Ph.D. from an accredited university graduate program is required. DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCES A minimum of 4 years of laboratory research experience is required. Scholarly output should be demonstrable in the form of published articles and presentations. Candidates with multiple first author publications and strong letters of reference are desired. Candidates with skills related to genetic manipulation of microbes, immunological assays (e.g. ELISA, flow cytometry) or omics dataset analyses will be strongly preferred.
