Required Education and Experience:
Ph.D. degree (already received, or having completed all requirements and awaiting graduation) with emphasis on relevant science field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Sufficient relevant experience to contribute significantly to a specific project.
Experience in the use of computers and other appropriate equipment to conduct the research proposed.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Incumbents will join faculty and researchers who are active in conducting research in a wide variety of disciplines pursued at IARC (see www.iarc.uaf.edu ) including but not limited to: methane gas emissions, all aspects of data research, oil spill response/recovery research, research related to detection of contemporary environmental change, and interactions and feedbacks in atmosphere-ice-ocean research. This will include working on one or more funded projects in these research areas under the guidance of senior faculty members. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year contingent on satisfactory performance and final approval of funds.

This position is a term-funded position through June 30, 2022, and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
