Position Summary

The Department of Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking applicants for Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Knight lab. This position is a collaborative effort between UNC Professors Charlie Carter, Qi Zhang, and Abigail Knight and will be based in the Knight group. This position is working on a project that seeks to evaluate a ribosome-free system for high throughput experimental analysis of the elements of genetic coding. The project [KAS1] entitled “Translatomics of Ribosome-Free Coded Peptide Bond Formation” will be the primary focus for this position. The successful candidate will participate as part of a team in all aspects of the experimental design and analysis, and be primarily responsible for carrying out high-throughput generation and quantitation of the synthesis of templated dipeptides.

Educational Requirements

PhD in Chemistry or a related field.

Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate with expertise in analytical chemistry and chemical biology. Experience and enthusiasm for quantitative LC-MS and database generation are preferred.
