Overview

The Clinical Trial Accounts Receivable & Revenue Analyst will assist the Director in all financial aspects of clinical research studies.  The Analyst will be responsible for aligning monthly payments received from pharmaceutical companies, sending and tracking invoices, and creating monthly invoice metrics. This role works with multiple groups and individuals across the Institute as well as external partners to communicate clinical research financial objectives and results.

Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable Analysis

  • Assist in aligning monthly payments received (wires, checks, lockbox payments) by pharmaceutical companies to appropriate clinical trial and to determine the proper allocation among Partners institutions (DFCI, MGH, BIDMC, etc)
  • Work with other CTBO members and pharmaceutical companies to reconcile study payment history and to address any discrepancies that arise
  • Perform trial account audit and payment reconciliation for trial account closure
  • Send invoices to pharmaceutical companies as needed
  • Follow-up on open invoices to reduce payment cycle time and potential lost revenue to ultimately achieve revenue enhancement

Financial Responsibilities

  • Log payments received and allocations across DFMGBCC
  • Work with our partners at MGH and BIDMC on various study revenue issues
  • Monthly review of DFMGBCC account with DFCI General Accounting
  • Review and Process monthly intra-institutional clinical trial research expenses
  • External subsite invoice tracking and processing

Financial Reporting

  • Build upon existing invoice tracker to develop reporting metrics (invoices sent, volume, collections, outstanding payments, etc)
  • Financial Reporting of Revenue Received and Distributed across DFMGBCC
  • Financial Reporting of Revenue and Collection Trends
  • Develop Monthly/Quarterly Reporting for Clinical Trial Leadership
  • Review/Analyze Clinical Trial Metrics from DFCI Finance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field. 
  • Financial experience in clinical research, research or health care industry preferred. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of accounts receivable best practices
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong Excel skills (V-lookups, pivot tables)
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment
