Postdoctoral Fellow in Pharmaceutical Sciences A postdoctoral fellow position is available under the supervision of Dr. Bernd Meibohm within the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center to contribute to small molecule drug development efforts in animal models, focusing specifically on bioanalytical and pharmacokinetic assessments, and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic studies. The postdoc will participate in several research projects funded by the National Institutes of Health and other sources under the supervision of Dr. Meibohm. This individual will have the responsibility of carrying out independent research related to these projects, including the development and performance of tandem mass spectrometry assays, the planning, execution and analysis of pharmacokinetic and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic studies, and the performance of pharmacometric analyses in support of drug discovery and preclinical development
Description
Qualifications PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology or a closely related field; a published track-record of extensive experience in pharmacokinetic research and LC-MS based analysis of small molecule drugs and metabolites in biological fluids, preferably related to anti-infective drug development; demonstrated knowledge in handling and utilizing pharmacokinetic animal models; high competency, skill, and experience in pharmacokinetic and pharmacometric data analysis; and excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English.
