Glasgow Caledonian – the largest and leading modern university in Scotland - is a vibrant, values-led university with campuses in the heart of Glasgow and London. Our strong commitment to delivering social innovation and sustainable development in our education and research supports the communities we serve and our strong partnerships with employers ensure our students get the careers they dream of and deserve.

The University has three academic Schools based in Glasgow, each one led by a Senior Management Team.  We are looking to recruit an outstanding individual within the role of Dean of School of Computing, Engineering and the Built environment (SCEBE), to lead and shape the School to achieve the vision and ambitions of both the School and the University.

You will be a distinguished academic leader with credibility within academic disciplines relevant to the University, with a proven track record of delivering successful change in education, research, enterprise and innovation.

Reporting to the Provost & Deputy Vice-Chancellor, you will be a member of the University’s Executive Group (UEG) and will be responsible for providing strategic, academic and operational leadership to the School. Working with University colleagues and the School Senior Management Team you will join at an exciting time, when the University is embarking on refreshing its strategy through a collaborative approach of engagement with staff from across the university, students, alumni and external partners and stakeholders.  This role is key in driving enhancements that build on our national and international reputation in education, research, enterprise and innovation; and in developing the School’s ability to work in creative partnerships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.

If you would like to discuss this opportunity or have any specific questions, please contact Professor Ehsan Mesbahi, Provost & Deputy Vice-Chancellor via Elaine Anderson, Senior Executive Assistant to Provost & Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Elaine.Anderson@gcu.ac.uk
