This position is responsible for supporting the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer (CDIO) and the Assistant Director of Diversity and Inclusion in developing, planning and implementing strategies designed to increase enrollment and retention of students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds. The Diversity and Inclusion (DI) Coordinator will oversee all activities involved in Frontier's Diversity Impact Program. The Frontier Diversity Impact Program is aimed to address the lack of diversity within the nursing workforce by working to recruit and retain underrepresented students, faculty and staff at FNU. This position will work closely and collaborate with multiple stakeholders including students, faculty, staff and administration.

Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the CDIO and the Assistant Director of DI with all diversity and inclusion activities.

  2. In collaboration with marketing, develop, implement and assess effective recruitment and enrollment strategies designed to increase the population of underserved students, faculty and staff. Attend recruiting events for the promotion of building up a more diverse FNU community especially students, faculty, and staff of color.

  3. Work with the CDIO and the Assistant Director of DI on initiatives to support and retain students and employees of color and from under-represented diverse background as they acclimate to the educational and cultural environment at FNU.

  4. Serve as coordinator/advisor for the Diversity Impact Program and provide guidance on academic, career, social, personal and multicultural matters.

  5. Collaborate with the Financial Aid unit and serve on Scholarships and DI Committees to award scholarships offered to students from racial and ethnic minority populations.

  6. Plan, coordinate and implement activities for the yearly Diversity Impact Conference held on FNU campus

  7. Participate in professional development activities and serve on university committees that support the goals and objectives of the Diversity Impact Program, diversity, and inclusion.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required
