The College of Business invites applications for Part-Time Lecturer (PTL) teaching positions in Marketing. Qualified PTL candidates are needed to teach several 3 credit hour undergraduate courses during the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters. Courses for which we are currently seeking candidates include Marketing Research, which is a required course in the Undergraduate curriculum, as well as several elective courses in areas such as Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Graphics Design, Social Media, New Venture Marketing, Supply Chain Management, etc.
We are flexible with respect to the electives you may be able to teach as long as they are electives that we could use in the program. We are willing to hire multiple candidates and candidates are encouraged to apply as long as they are willing to teach one or more courses although capability to teach Marketing Research and/or multiple electives in the program would be highly desirable. Capability to teach both in class and on-line courses would be a plus. Class size is expected to be around 45 students for most classes. Also, flexibility with respect to days and times of classes, including willingness to teach evening classes in some cases is to be expected.
Minimum Education and Experience
A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a Master's degree in a Business field (Marketing, Management, etc.) or a related field is required. Those with a Ph.D. in Marketing or closely related field or those close to finishing their Ph.D.s will also be considered.
Knowledge of appropriate tools for the courses you wish to teach would be expected, such as knowledge of SPSS and Excel to teach Marketing Research, knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite to teach Graphics Design, etc. Corporate experience, consulting experience, experience on boards of organizations, and past teaching experience in a University environment would all be highly desirable traits for candidates. If hired, candidates will be expected to abide by all College and University policies in regard to teaching. Once hired, candidates could be considered for teaching in future semesters depending on their job performance, departmental needs, and the demand for the courses they are capable of teaching.
Submit cover letter, Curriculum Vitae, at least 3 references with letters if available, a statement of professional experience and teaching experience in the courses you wish to teach, and any relevant professional certifications. If you have past teaching experience you should submit documents to support your teaching such as the most recent teaching evaluations, letters that attest to your teaching ability, and detailed sample syllabi for the courses you prefer to teach.
