Accountability Objective
The Assistant Director is responsible for performing duties for all areas of the college and the coordination, scheduling, and monitoring of all center activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in education or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in academic administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of constituents.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated technological/computer skills – experience with learning management systems, student information systems, and classroom/teaching technology.

Essential Job Function

 

Essential Job Function
  • Answer questions from students, staff and general public; greet and assist visitors.
  • Provide secretarial services to DACC Staff and instructors.
  • Disseminate college related information to students and general public.
  • Prepare and maintain room schedule for all extensions center activities (credit and non-credit)
  • Prepare, update, distribute and file, relevant rosters, forms, and reports.
  • Assist with student registration, distribution of textbooks, and other related college information.
  • Oversee computer resource room and proctor exams. (Accuplacer, ALEKS, TEAS, INACE, CASAS)
  • Act as Student Services coordinator for Hoopeston (registration, etc)
  • Monitor supply inventories and order as necessary.
  • Create marketing materials for use with schools for registration and public events with recruiting opportunities.
  • Provide tech support for students and faculty
  • Help train student workers
  • Work with director to keep policies up to date and in sync with main campus and all Board Policies
  • Report attendance to high schools for College Express & Dual Credit and coordinate absences, etc.
  • Assist with all aspects of Community and Corporate Ed classes (recruitment, registration, classroom support)
  • Assist with GED registration and testing processes.
  • Assist with coordinating public and community events.
  • Prepare and coordinate advertising for local news media.
  • Address and when possible, resolve alarm system issues, building and computer issues, working with counterparts and responsible parties on campus.
  • Maintain activity logs, waitlists, records and documentation systems, including C.N.A.binder and registration materials.
  • Light cleaning as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
