The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of Catering Banquet Captain with Three Leaf Catering. The UEE division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.
Why this position?
The Catering Banquet Captain serves as coordinator for catering functions executed by Three Leaf Catering within the Hospitality division of University of Notre Dame. Represent the university through service at high profile university/development events: Board of Trustees, Advisory Councils, College and alumni events including weddings, anniversary parties, funerals and social events. Oversee the professional setup, service and breakdown of banquet events. Professionally handle all guest requests, meeting and exceeding highest levels of customer expectations according Banquet Event Order. They will meet and greet the event client onsite prior to the event start time to ensure all customer expectations are met. The ability to problem solve, and rectify a situation quickly are essential to this position.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-4 years experience
- Excellent customer service skills needed in dealing with VIP clientele and with coworkers
- Self starter with good organizational skills to correctly manage crew on timing of setup/service/cleanup of events
- Creativity in setting up buffets and receptions to maximize presentation/guest satisfaction
- Able to work in occasional stressful situations and adjust to last minute changes smoothly
